NIRATANKA, an organization working in the field of Social work, under the able guidance of Dr. H.M Marulasiddaiah, Retired Professor, Department of Social Work, Bangalore University, Bangalore, publishes SAMAJA KARYADA HEJJEGALU (Social Work Footprints) a bilingual (Kannada and English) monthly journal on social work. It has successfully completed 2 years, bringing out 24 issues in 2 volumes, focusing on the different areas of social work. It encourages the students, teachers, researchers and practitioners of social work to document their field experience and publish in the journal. It has got International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) 2230-8830 and Registrar of Newspaper for India (RNI) No MAG (3) NPP/321/2010-2011. It has also been recognized by Dept of Library, Govt. of Karnataka.
Along with this, it also has a division – NIRUTA Publications which exclusively deals with publications. With the objective of promoting the literature of Social Work, Social Welfare and Social Development NIRUTA Publications has been set up. So far more than 10 books have been published. The landmark publication of NIRUTA publications is “Social work and Social Welfare – A Historical – Cultural Perspective” authored by Rtd. Prof. Shankar Pathak, Dept. of Social Work, Delhi University.
